Making Home Affordable – Mortgage Relief Programs The Making Home Affordable Program (MHA) ® was launched in 2009 by the Obama Administration. MHA is managed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The MHA’s mortgage relief programs help homeowners prevent foreclosure.
